This web site is my catalogue of the extraordinary period in my life when my creative juices went into overdrive.
It is a collection of much of the work that I did during the Eighties and Nineties when the computer game industry was in its fledgling stages. It was when just a couple of people, working from a converted bedroom could take a great game idea and achieve world wide recognition. Innovative game ideas and genres were spawned in this heady environment where no idea was too crazy to present to an eager public, hungry to load the next game onto their ZX 81 or Spectrum.
The industry developed through the nineties and naughties to become the giant concern that it is today. The companies got bigger and so did the games. Many games commanded huge budgets and large numbers of staff in order to satisfy the insatiable gamer who was demanding ever more content for his latest spec. console or PC.
Today, the cycle has moved around and there are opportunities for the small start-up with a great game idea to develop exciting and innovative ideas for smart phones and download stores. Retro titles with fun, short burst game-play are becoming ever more the game of choice to fit the lifestyle of the casual gamer.
Over the coming weeks and months, I will be adding more and more scans of my artworks from that period. They will include, not only the game covers that I did, but also the many book jackets, magazine covers and original artwork from TV series such as Knightmare.
I will add to this archive the roughs, sketches and visuals that went into creating the final work and put on record the processes that had to be worked through, so please check the site frequently.
I have added a few items for sale in the online shop. I will add to these frequently. Each print is printed individually on high quality cotton rag art paper with a 10 colour pigment dye printer. This will give the prints extremely long life,
